About the job
Duties/Pligte
- Overseeing the budget and administering the financial processes and implementing policies needed for workshops and other events (e.g. invoicing, payments, procurement and liaising with service providers);
- Recruiting student leaders (Connect Committee);
- Overseeing the coordinating of Vensters: implementing and executing the event (e.g. venues, security, general logistics);
- Managing challenges and crises;
- Continuously liaising with the CSC, the Connect Committee and external parties such as SU Woordfees, the municipality and campus security;
- Building positive relationships within the team and with external parties;
- Developing leadership, supervising leaders, and providing them with guidance and mentorship;
- Being available for interaction and consultation with students;
- Providing support in the development, training and facilitation of group discussions; workshops and training sessions;
- Providing support in the development of appropriate interventions;
- Handling relevant enquiries made in person, by e-mail or telephonically;
- Administrative and general ad hoc tasks as required.
- Toesighouding oor die begroting en die administrasie van die finansiële prosesse en implementeringsbeleide wat nodig is vir werksessies en ander geleenthede (bv. fakturering, betalings, aanskaffing en skakeling met diensverskaffers);
- Werwing van studenteleiers (Connect-komitee);
- Toesighouding oor die koördinering van Vensters: implementering en uitvoering van die geleentheid (bv. plekke, sekuriteit, algemene logistiek);
- Bestuur uitdagings en krisisse;
- Deurlopende skakeling met die SSG, die Connect-komitee en eksterne partye, soos die US Woordfees, die munisipaliteit en kampussekuriteit;
- Bou positiewe verhoudings in die span en met eksterne partye;
- Ontwikkel leierskap, hou toesig oor leiers, en voorsien hulle van voorligting en mentorskap;
- Wees beskikbaar vir interaksie en konsultasie met studente;
- Bied steun in die ontwikkeling, opleiding en fasilitering van groepsbesprekings, werksessies en opleidingssessies;
- Bied steun aan die ontwikkeling van toepaslike ingrypings;
- Hanteer navrae wat in persoon, per e-pos of telefonies gedoen word;
- Administratiewe en algemene ad hoc-take soos nodig.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A Bachelor’s degree;
- At least two years’ proven experience with events management in a higher education environment;
- At least two years’ experience of organising an event attracting a crowd over one thousand people;
- Knowledge of legislation guiding a mass event;
- At least two years’ experience in drafting and managing a budget.
- ‘n Baccalaureus-graad;
- Minstens twee jaar se bewese ervaring van geleentheidsbestuur in ‘n hoër-onderwys-omgewing;
- Minstens twee jaar se ervaring van die organisering van geleenthede wat ‘n skarevan meer as ‘n duisend mense lok;
- Kennis van die wetgewing waardeur massageleenthede gerig word;
- Minstens twee jaar se ervaring in die opstel en bestuur van ‘n begroting
