Full-Time Engineering Services Manager by Colgate-Palmolive

Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new processes/projects/engineering technology.
  • Lead vendor selections and technical negotiations.
  • Execute multiple factory acceptance tests and new equipment installation initiatives and assist in factory restructuring initiatives and strategic business evaluations.
  • Participate in the development of a site contingency plan and business simplification initiatives.
  • Build, develop capital budgets and lead Supply Chain Cost Reduction Initiative and Support FTG Program.
  • Support factory continuous improvement initiatives and develop opportunities to improve changeover reduction.
  • Develop a network with Legal, Corporate EOHS, Quality, and other Subs to benchmark. Participate in site Quality Audits and EOHS Audits.
  • Engage in Technical/Engineering Supply Chain Network/Community and participate in Global Sourcing Study for Equipment, in order to improve the CI Process in our Facilities.

Managing Materials and Services :

  • Understands the relationship that operations, planning, logistics and manufacturing processes have on material, conversion costs and utilization.

Continuous Improvement :

  • Exploits and reviews data to identify and measure potential improvements.
  • Applies the Asset Efficiency Model to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures that Continuous Improvement processes support Quality and Safety goals within the area.
  • Communicates efficiently with leadership to transfer information, request resources and facilitates in the decision making processes.
  • Develops and cultivates cross organizational collaboration to drive business results.


EOHS and Quality Leadership :

  • Is exemplary and demands MSB and awareness, sound Environmental practices and dedication to Quality.
  • Understands own role and responsibility as well as that of others in implementing standards and guidelines.
  • Recognizes and acknowledges excellent performance in area and individuals.
  • Take timely corrective actions to mitigate potential EOHS or Quality risk.
  • Assess performance against corporate and government regulations.
  • Be accountable for monthly inspections and closure of findings.
  • Ensure all SOPs are in place, Production, Safety, GMP, Equipment, C&S, Quality; all personnel trained accordingly with records available and carry out GMP requirements.

Supply Chain Systems & Analysis :

  • Use analytical tools and business data to improve total performance of the Supply Chain and balance the various critical metrics.
  • Understands the interrelationships of the five Supply Chain processes: planning, sourcing, making, delivering, and product commercialization, with respect to overall performance.
  • Uses data from Focus Factory, analytical business tools, and information systems efficiently to maximize Return on Capital and Customer Service.
  • Anticipates production area problems—operational, technical, business and workforce—and takes action.

Business/Financial Understanding :

  • Understands the Total Delivered Cost Structure of products and uses this knowledge to efficiently control material and labor costs in the area.
  • Develops and implements appropriate margin improvement programs.

Required Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Government Certificate of Competency in Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years experience in a similar role

Preferred Qualification:

  • An MBA degree
  • Additional Certification / Diploma in Project Management
