Full-Time Director: Centre For Entrepreneurship by University of the Western Cape

The University of the Western Cape seeks to appoint a passionate and energetic individual who can champion entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of the Western Cape and South Africa.
Reporting to the Executive Director: Finance and Services, the Director: Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) will lead Entrepreneurship and Innovation initiatives by aligning and consolidating existing and new interventions, identifying opportunities that will positively impact stakeholder development.
The Director will unlock the entrepreneurial potential within various faculties, students, communities and will have a broad network within the entrepreneurial ecosystem that can position UWC as a key player in reducing unemployment and impacting communities positively.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Design, initiate, implement and facilitate outreach programs that will encourage and enhance entrepreneurial and innovation knowledge, skills, and development.
- Leading strategic initiatives and financial sustainability of the CEI.
- Direct and consolidate existing efforts in entrepreneurship internally and externally.
- Identify opportunities and fundraising to expand and enhance current and new entrepreneurial activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate processes that will be impactful for external stakeholders, eg. Government Departments, communities, small to medium enterprises, etc.
- Develop student and staff knowledge that will expose and encourage students and staff to business knowledge and entrepreneurial activity.
- Provide input into entrepreneurial curriculum design and activity.
- Perform fundraising activity that will support specific projects that will drive interest and engagement with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Initiate, design, facilitate and implement incubation activities.
- Engage and foster relationships between industry, government, donors, campus community, and other stakeholders that translate into meaningful partnerships.
- A relevant Masters qualification or equivalent (NQF level 9)
- 5 years experience in training and development
- 10 years experience in a management role
- Fundraising experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Computer proficiency
- Personality to draw interest and public relations.
